nice photo of philip starck on the 'pibal', a prototype bicycle crossed with a scooter developed with car company peugeot. the french city of bordeaux asked locals to submit design suggestions for an urban bike. starck took their ideas and worked with peugeot to develop a scooter and bicycle hybrid named pibal. the idea is that on the pibal cyclists can pedal as normal or, if traffic is heavy, use the low scooter-like platform to push themselves along with one foot. as a frequent cyclist in a big city, i'm not really convinced if that's what you need though......what do you think?
