french interior and product designer andrée putman died a few days ago aged 87. she was credited with inventing the concept of 'boutique hotel' with her game-changing interior design of the morgan's hotel on new york's madison avenue in 1984. she put on her stamp on hotels in germany, france, japan and hongkong, where luxury skyscraper apartment-hotel 'the putman'was named after her.
